After looking at five different assisted living communities, I am so glad we chose Addington Place. The staff is outstanding—caring, attentive, and always willing to help. Everyone who lives there is friendly and welcoming, which creates a wonderful sense of community. There are tons of social events and activities for residents to enjoy, so there is always something going on. My father absolutely loved the food, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The location is also excellent and convenient for family visits. We have been very happy with our decision and would highly recommend Addington Place to anyone looking for a quality assisted living community.
My father lived in the independent living community at Addington Place for 7 months and loved it. He had lived in another independent living community in Nevada for several years. In 2024, my stepmom passed away and my dad decided to move to Florida to be closer to me. We visited several places in the Tampa/St Pete area and by far, Addington Place was at the top of our list. There was a waitlist for a few months but once my dad moved in, he was surrounded by sincere, professional staff and friendly residents who quickly became his friend.
I need to back up: I first met with Beverly, one of the marketing/admissions staff members several months before my dad moved to Florida. I liked her immediately. She not only had a great knowledge of Addington Place, she also asked me a lot of pertinent questions so that she could find the best apartment for my dad. It wasn't more then a few weeks later that I met the other two staff members who make up the marketing/admissions team: John and Royce.
John took my dad and me on many additional tours of apartments and I was floored at how he connected with the residents that we passed by on the tours. He is so genuine, sincere, and professional. Royce was in charge of onboarding for my dad and helped keep me organized with the paperwork. He is, just like Beverly and John, so skilled and authentic. All three are THE DREAM TEAM. Each of them has been caring, sincere, and professional and they continually kept me abreast of my dad's place in their waiting list. Even after my dad moved in, I often ran into one of them and they have always been friendly and genuinely caring. Addington Place is incredibly lucky to have John, Royce, and Beverly as the first point of contact when folks are looking for a new community.
I also want to mention that there were four staff members who worked at the front desk and I can't remember all of their names but anytime I had questions, they were all on the ball. One of them, Donna, has been working the front desk during the daytime and she is EXCEPTIONAL!. I've heard residents say that if they want something done, ask Donna for help.
Andrieka is the community concierge and she is so awesome!! My dad went to her with a myriad of questions/needs and she has been an angel, so loving and professional with the residents and families.
I could go on and on, but my dad and I couldn't be happier with Addington Place. My dad passed away just a few months ago at the age of 95 but he thrived, living close to me and having made so many friends at his home at Addington Place. I visited him frequently and Addington has always been clean and well maintained. It's an older building but that doesn't matter because the staff, activities, and food service are what is most important. I'm happy to give more details if any prospective resident has any questions.
I can’t say enough great things about Addington Place at College Harbor and the team that makes it such a special community.
Executive Director Kathy leads with professionalism, compassion, and genuine care for both residents and families. It’s clear she sets the tone for a culture that prioritizes dignity, respect, and quality of life.
John in admissions made the entire process smooth and stress-free from the very beginning. He’s knowledgeable, responsive, and truly takes the time to understand each family’s needs. Royce and Bev have also been incredible—always approachable, supportive, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
A special shoutout to Activities Director Alix, who brings so much energy and creativity to the community. The activities are engaging, meaningful, and tailored in a way that keeps residents active, social, and genuinely happy.
If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be cared for like family, Addington Place is it. Highly recommend!
My mom was in skilled nursing for a couple of weeks. Some of the staff were kind and caring, but too many of the nursing assistants were outright rude and neglectful. My mom couldn't walk, and she would wait up to an hour for someone to come to her room when called. She was constantly sitting in soiled clothes and made to feel like a nuisance when she needed help. One of the women would hit her and hurt her in the shower. My mom started to lose her mind there. She was becoming a shell of herself. We got her out as soon as we realised, and she recovered quickly after leaving. It's a shame people aren't treated with more dignity and compassion.
As a medical professional that has been providing nearly 15 years of in-home care to patients, I can honestly say that the whole team at Addington is truly exceptional!
To have an Executive Director like Justin who not only cares, but truly advocates for his residents is huge. Nurse Crystal & her assistant Brittany are top notch - always going above & beyond to ensure the residents have all the support they need. Andrieka does an incredible job coordinating things for the independent residents. Anthony is a total rockstar!! From start to finish- ensuring patients are safe when they get home - he’s truly a miracle worker! Edie & Heather in dietary are so passionate about the nourishing meals that are prepared for residents & they go the extra mile for the Monthly Resident Parties & always prepare a special meal that goes along with the theme of the party. Alix & Heather in activities ensure that the residents are never bored & they keep the calendar full of fun & engaging activities. Last but not least- John, Royce & Beverly are the first faces you’ll see when touring the building & they will very quickly become like long lost friends that feel like they’ve always been a part of your life.
In conclusion, The Addington is a top notch facility with top notch care & professionalism. I’m so blessed that I get to work so closely with so many of their team members.
If you’re looking to tour a facility for your loved one, I highly recommend you check out The Addington.
Photos are from a recent Disney themed party that was put on for all the residents & their families are invited to each of these parties every month. It’s a beautiful thing to see moms dancing with their sons while listening to the live band.
