Homestead is such a beautiful facility, inside and out. The staff seem to care a lot more than any other place I’ve had my mother in. I have never heard her complain about how she’s being treated nor of her living conditions. She loved how many activities there are for her to do & how interactive everyone is, residents and including employees. I want to thank Homestead for making my mom feel more than at home and welcome. Every single member of staff are all so sweet and effective in their work. 5 star facility all around. Way to go Homestead!
Absolutely great place! Amazing staff and extremely communicative. Any issue is resolved with quickness and effectiveness. The nurses show extreme resilience and care for their patients, front office staff and executive director, Sam, are incredibly polite and communicative. If you really want your people to be cared for this is definitely the place for them.
I trusted Homestead Village with my brother’s care. Within a few months we quickly realized their words don’t match up to their actions. I tried to respectfully and professionally address numerous issues with their Executive Director Sam, and multiple people on her staff. The vast majority of correspondence was not even responded to. They said “they never received my emails.” When asked in person - they confirmed I had their correct email address and blamed it on their computers.
I had Sams cell phone number. She ignored the vast majority of my texts and pictures. The great part - she responded to a few which shows she was getting my messages and ignored them.
When asked in person they (Sam, Deana and another lady) played the victim card providing all kinds of excuses. Leaders take responsibility for their actions. Everyone at Homestead Village that I tried to work with refused to take any responsibility. They said the items I brought up were immediately being addressed but that wasn’t true.
I even found their CEO and CFO’s contact information. I reached out with concerns and pictures on two different occasions - no response. They make hundreds of thousands of dollars per month and the pictures I’ve attached show what the residents actually live like.
When the CEO and CFO don’t care, it probably doesn’t matter who’s in the Executive Director seat. As long as Sam keeps the occupancy level high enough and their profits continue, nothing will change. When enough people move their loved ones to a different location and their profits significantly decline, maybe then they will make the required changes.
More of the money they make needs to be spent on their residents care, food quality, cleanliness, and maintenance of their deteriorating cottages.
Interesting side note, several of their five star reviews are from employees. I was told they are required to do that to off set the bad reviews.
I moved my brother to a new location a few days ago and he is much happier.
Assisted living facility, with 24hr care
Nurses Deb and Jodi are a dream team when it comes to getting things done and will help with patient care in a timely manner
Care staff PCTs are very kind and attentive to patients care and needs. Certainly puts patients safety and care needs first!
For some reason, now, their phone system seems unable doesn’t work to call me. I’ve been trying to get the prorated amt due our family after my Dad’s passing in January. I was told two months ago that the request had been sent to “corporate”. I’ve been afraid to rock the boat too much since my step-mom is in memory care there and has been for 4.5 years. In that time I’ve watched things decline. The rate goes up every year but the quality of care goes down day by day. The rate increases are 2%-5% higher than the rate of inflation. Now that their phones can’t seem to contact me, I’m worried I won’t get notified if my step-mom falls or something else happens. The care my father received there was a smidge above deplorable. There were a couple of caregivers (Sabrina) who made an effort to properly care for my Dad. And then there were caregivers like (Marcus) who couldn’t look up from his phone to acknowledge people entering the cottage. I knew if Sabrina was working, my dad wouldn’t be in wet or soiled diaper. He was bedridden and no one would help him eat. His physical condition deteriorated rapidly under their “care” . It was terribly sad to watch this WW II vet treated this way. If it hadn’t been for Hospice being started it would have been much worse. It’s scary to me, as a retired RN, that they have I qualified caregivers passing meds; Marcus was getting his med cert while we were there. He absolutely could not relay what a drug was for, the best way to administer it, contraindications, drug interactions with other meds, signs of toxicity or allergic reactions. I’m thankful my dad didn’t suffer too long under their “care”. I’m currently worried about my step-mom; her Alzheimer’s has left unable to communicate. She is now in hospice so at least there’s another set of eyes on her.
