I'm a single man & enjoy the carefree retirement lifestyle at Barkley Place. They provide 3 meals a day, weekly housekeeping including changing my sheets; and activities I enjoy like card games & dominoes. The location is great - just a short bike ride each morning to the local YMCA for group exercise classes with friends. I no longer have to do yard work or worry about condo maintenance & repair. No HOA fees!
I’ve enjoyed living in Barkley Place for over 4 years. The staff is friendly, caring and willing to help when needed while still respecting resident’s independence. If needed, the maintenance team is very responsive and handle requests promptly. I also appreciate the daily opportunities to socialize through activities and events with no pressure to participate if I just want to relax.
Overall, it’s a quiet, comfortable place with a welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like home.
Most of the staff is amazing. The apartments are airy with lots of windows. Makes the area feel bigger and airier
Wilma a server on the dining room is the most caring woman. She always listens carefully and does the best possible to accommodate our requests.
They are in the process of upgrading with new hurricane windows and removing the popcorn ceilings in the common areas.
The choice of carpeting is questionable. Laminate flooring would look much nicer and then eliminate a lot of staining.
The women’s bathroom on the first floor needs to be upgraded.
Cindy Thompson the General Manager is easy to talk to and responds to any problems as soon as possible.
I would recommend this place
