NEVER place your loved ones in this facility! Your loved ones will not survive. My father suffered from severe malnutrition, sever bed sores, was attacked frequently, his clothes and shoes were always missing. My father suffered a severe massive subdural hematoma (brain bleed) from blunt force trauma to the brain 01/17/2021 or thereabout. The injury was severe enough for him to be laying on the floor and found by staff. The fall was covered up, never reported. My dad was found non-responsive sitting in a chair slumped over. He was rushed to Halifax Hospital. They drained the blood but dad was brain dead. When dad was sent to the hospital the Director of nursing didn't report a fall or head injury, and pretended to know nothing, therefore the hospital initially didn't know how the injury occurred. Darren Pedigo and the facility Indigo Palms has had several deaths occur to their patients. My father was put on hospice and died on Easter Sunday 04/04/2021 from the injuries. We buried dad 5 days later on his birthday 04/10/2021. There is no memory care done at the facility. The residents roam the halls like zombies. If a resident has a fall, they leave them on the floor, never making sure these people are ok.
My mom has been a resident for over 2 years and we are very happy with the level of care she has been provided. Lisa and her entire staff have always handled any issues or problems that we have presented. My mom, only has nice things to say about the staff also.
Great place for your loved ones to be with like minded people. Staff is caring and kind and are always there for the residents needs. Beautiful landscape with pond and waterfall. Residents can grow their own vegetables!!!! Fishing is also an activity do to large pond next to facility. Laugh, live, and mingle at the Palms.
Thank you for taking care of my grandmother when I was in desperate need of help. I was in an emergency situation. I can't express the gratitude I have for the staff who cared for her and Lisa... I just cannot thank you enough for taking her in and the assistance you provided :)
I wrote a review for Indigo Palms two years ago at the beginning of my father's care there, and wanted to review again for an update. When my dad was first admitted, he was violent and confused. After 5 years of caring for him in our home, we made the very hard decision to place him in a care facility. He was kicked out of two and baker acted several times. We had a very difficult time finding him a place after that, and were very relieved when Indigo Palms accepted him. They were really there for us in a hard time, and worked with my father to get him stable and comfortable, in spite of the difficult nature of the situation. My dad has since declined greatly and hospice is involved. Now that he is stable and cannot be violent, we have moved him back home. The staff seemed genuinely sad to see him go. They are very caring and attentive, and our entire family is so thankful for them. I don't know how we would have gotten through this time without them. Special thanks to Darren and Kevin for everything.
