Kaicey Carson-Morehouse★★★★★2 months agoMemory care here is not what it should be. They did an alright jobs taking care of her, lots of falls which isn’t all on them. A medication error of a controlled substance by a QMAP was definitely on them though. Feels very understaffed and not enough nurses or CNAs. While receiving hospice care in Bethesda, it seemed they just stopped with majority of cares because “hospice does it”. She was regularly disheveled and had an aroma of stale urine and feces. Maybe not all on them, she has the right to refuse. But it was every single time. Hospice communicated most of the concerns and events such as falls, Bethesda had minimal communication with us.
Our family member was moved to inpatient hospice where she passed away. When my husband went to clean out her room at 4:55pm, it took 35 minutes to get let into memory care because no one was around. He tried calling the desk and everything, it was just an abandoned check in. A hospice nurse from an agency who doesn’t even work there assisted them with getting in. Each subsequent trip into and out of memory care took a minimum of 15-30 minutes to be let through the doors. While 6 employees were noted to be smoking out front.
Upon arrival to the room it was not locked as they were “having issues with the lock”. They found candy wrappers, bras and briefs on the floor as if someone had been rummaging through things.
While moving furniture a resident sexually assaulted two of our friends helping move; groping frontside and backside. (Not angry at the resident by any means. She’s in that unit for a reason). She kept trying to touch them and convince them to come to bed with her. Staff finally came to lead her away as she was trying to flash her bottom to them. She came back and was then trying to take things they were trying to move. Another resident kept blocking them in the room with his wheelchair wanting bandages taken off. Staff was no where to be found to help with traffic control while we moved things.
When her children (who moved her in there and visited) started going through her things. She had way more stuff than was moved in. We are talking 6 comforters, 15 blankets, 9 sets of sheets and pillow cases, and 10 black trash bags worth of clothes. Majority of it was not her belongings we know for a fact. She only lived there for ~8 months and her son and daughter were the only ones brining things in.
When concerns were raised to management there was very little response and no ownership taken. There was absolutely no concern that other residents may be missing their property. All she said was “it is all hers” when we know it’s not. Apparently we were paying to rent a storage closet.
As an ICU nurse who helped my husband and my in laws pick this place I’m very disappointed in the experience, her care there and the treatment after she passed. If hospice hadn’t been checking in on her I fear how much worse it would have been.
Mr. Detkowski★★★★★6 months agoIm going to state a concern i may have. I would like to be convinced otherwise. Why is there no-one in the pictures. Not a soul walking playing a card game cooking out reading a book telling a joke or someone even smiling. Instead there is no one around for the pictures taken at peak times of the day. Do the residents just go in their room and stay all day no interaction with others? Concerned and confused. Please correct me if im wrong.
Jacqueline Jackson★★★★★a year agoOur experience at Bethesda Gardens Loveland has been wonderful from the first meet and greet to the new resident onboarding, through move in and now as my Dad is a full resident of the facility! Reasonable pricing, no sharing of personal space, great caregivers, lots of wonderful meals/food, great activities, ease of working with the administration, personalized engagement with the Exec Director, nice and spacious apartments, and a warm, welcoming feel from staff and residents alike! People seem extremely happy to be a resident and you can tell they are a faith-based, non-profit because they seem more concerned about the people and relationships instead of the almighty dollar where all they are concerned about is making a profit regardless of whether you are getting the best care for your loved one! God really was at work in helping us find this facility and we are feeling very blessed! Thank you Bethesda Gardens Loveland 💕🙏💕🙏😁🎉😁🎉
Terri Singer★★★★★2 years agoMy family took 2 tours of Bethesda Gardens. It was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was kind and friendly to all of us.
Several of the residents welcomed my family as well. They talked about the great care they receive and how much they enjoy living here.
We had lunch there and ate with the other residents. It was a wonderful experience. I'm hoping when my parents are ready to take this next step, this will be their new home.
Tom Scott★★★★★a year agoWhat a wonderful place to call my Dad’s new home. The whole process with application and signing of the lease took less than a week+. Beth is so wonderful with people of my Dad’s age. She is kind and gentle and always smiling. Thank you for such a great experience Beth. ~Cindy~ (Tom’s Daughter)
