The decision to entrust the full-time care of a loved one is not an easy one to make! Couple that with hearing so many stories from other people who have had negative experiences makes it even more difficult. We were faced with this late last year when my Dad’s health needs became more than we could handle. We were so fortunate to find Hacienda de Luna early on in our search. The empathy and understanding we received during that first tour from Lynn and Miranda, the owner and the manager, was comforting. What was even better was seeing first hand, day in and day out the level of compassion and care that he received from everyone. We always were made to feel welcome regardless of what time it was. We also heard from other residents who told us about stays at other locations that were not good and then they found this place and stayed. I cannot tell how much peace all this brought us! The day he passed away we shared genuine tears with his caregivers, we will never forget how we felt over those months!
I was faced with 2 major surgeries and had to find placement for my husband who had Alzheimer's. A friend recommended Hacienda de Luna and fortunately they had an opening. From the moment we walked in the door I knew I had found the right place. It is very spacious, always clean and neat and the meals are homecooked by the staff. All of the staff who cared for my husband were superb and truly created a wonderful home environment for the residents. They made sure he had everything he needed and did it in a manner that was caring and loving. Not only did they care for him but they provided me the the support I needed as well. I can't thank them enough for their compassion and concern for both of us. If you are looking for a place for your loved one this would be it!
My father was transferred to hospice care from the V.A. hospital about 3 weeks ago. He had been staying at a local Brookdale, and I thought I could just move him into the Brookdale memory care facility -- but the cost was prohibitive and I learned that the caregiver-patient ratio was not the best. A local adultt placement service specialist helped me to find Hacienda de Luna, and I could not be happier. The facility was small and family-like. Every time I came in, someone was making a home-cooked meal in the kitchen. The caregivers in the house my father was in (House 2) were professional, courteous and patient, even when he, in his dementia, pulled their hair as they tried to feed him. Amanda was especially outstanding in her care; she's someone who has a true vocation for the kind of work that she does, and she loves it, loves the people in her care. When my father finally passed away, the whole team was compassionate, willing to give us all the time we needed to stay with him after he passed, to take our time in emptying the room. This was both the most cost-effective option for my dad's care, and truly the best facility we could find. I will always be grateful to the kind people who helped my father spend his final days in comfort and peace.
Hacienda De Luna is definitely 5 Stars in every aspect!! As the owner of a local senior placement agency, I have vetted over 300 Assisted Living & Memory Care facilities across Southern Arizona. Hacienda De Luna is owned and operated by an experienced team who truly care about the well-being of their residents. They have a tenured caregiving staff who are passionate about keeping residents comfortable and well cared for. Both of their care homes are clean and they offer spacious rooms that are well designed with safety measures in mind. The quality caregiving and compassion they have shown to the clients I've placed in their homes is truly remarkable. Keep up the great work as you and your staff are surely making a difference in the lives of our Tucson seniors!!
My Mom has been living at Hacienda for almost two years. She was moved from a large facility in Tucson where she was not getting adequate care. Miranda and the caregiver staff at Hacienda treat Mom as if she were their mother. They are very caring and we could not be happier with her care! We love them and appreciate all they do every single day. We could not have found a better place - a definite 5 stars!
