Putting my loved one in this assisted living facility has been a nightmare from day one. The facility has repeatedly increased its prices without proper notification or a valid explanation for the increases, which is both frustrating and concerning.
Staff turnover has been absolutely staggering. In just one year, the facility has gone through **three executive directors, three directors of nursing, and three nursing managers**. I have lost count of the caregiver turnover. This level of instability raises serious concerns about consistency of care, management, and the overall well-being of residents.
Nearly every aspect of this facility has steadily declined since my loved one moved in a year ago. There are currently numerous apartments sitting vacant for months, just on my loved one’s floor alone. Maintenance and cleaning services have also gone without adequate staffing for months at a time because the facility seemingly cannot retain employees in these essential positions.
A year ago, I had certain expectations for the care and living environment my loved one would receive. Unfortunately, the reality has been deeply disappointing. Families place an enormous amount of trust in assisted living facilities to provide a safe, clean, and well-managed environment for the people they love. Based on my experience, Gardens has fallen far short of those expectations.
I could go on and on, but I honestly question whether this review will make any difference. My hope is that other families will take these concerns seriously and carefully consider their options before choosing Gardens for their loved ones. **Families deserve transparency, consistency, and quality care—not ongoing uncertainty and a steady decline in services.**
I moved to the Gardens to be closer to my family. My apartment is lovely and I’ve met many friendly people. There are a lot of activities, from games to movies. We go out a lot on field trips to restaurants and museums. The staff is kind and make us feel like we are at home.
Hello everyone
I had the privilege of visiting The Gardens of Ocitillo today and completed a tour with Candy. The community is very clean! The staff were all very friendly and all said Hello to me. The apartments are very specious with in-room washer and dryer, some had balconies and the kitchettes had a full kitchen large fridge and plenty of space for storage and counter top. So much to do and gorgeous places to enjoy at the community if you decide to go out of your community. I really feel this is a great community! Thank you Candy and team Gardens of Ocitillo.
My mother was in need of assisted living while rehabilitating from a stroke. I didn't want to place her in a Medicaid assisted facility, so I visited a handful of places in the Chandler area and decided on this one. It outshined the rest by far, with a comparable price (at the time). The staff is very friendly and helpful in all aspects. The caregivers are always willing to help and even spend a few extra minutes loving on Mom's cat when they're in the apartment. The activities staff are always smiling and do a great job planning things to do for the residents, including holiday decorations, parties and field trips. The dining room staff always has new items on the menu, never letting it get boring. Can't forget Kim's welcoming smile at the reception desk, of course. The administrative staff has always been good to Mom and I and do their best to answer questions and fulfill requests. This, however, is the only thing that concerns me: Spectrum, the parent company, has parted ways with a few extraordinary administrative employees inexplicably. So you tend to see new faces in administration often. It's a very strange pattern. Besides that though, the landscaping is always perfect, and the facility is clean with nice furniture and decorations and fireplaces throughout the common areas. After a year, Mom is now able to move back into her home, so it's farewell for now. I don't regret selecting Gardens for the time needed at all, and I thank them for giving Mom a comfortable place to live this last year with all the support she needed.
Very nice apartments and overall facility,. Life there would definitely be comfortable and fun. However, higher prices than some comparable places, with less frequent housekeeping & transportation services, and 2 meals per day versus 3.
